Congressman Kevin Brady asks Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner to step down

Mr. Brady really gave it to Geithner - told him the truth. At the same time, Geithner argued with him, re-iterating the same lies that were forced onto all of us.

Capitalism Hasn't Failed; Greed has Failed - part 1 of 2

What else can I say? This is my way of debunking the favorite argument of all liberals who say that Capitalism is evil and has failed.

What Does the Hate Crimes Bill Have to do With Defense Spending?

Recently, I learned that my Senator, John Cornyn voted for the Defense bill that would allow more funding for our military for their equipment they need. Although I believe it is very important that our military have the best equipment and armor to protect them in times like this, but Senator Cornyn voted for it, knowing that the Hate Crimes Bill was stuffed into it. Yes, he also spoke out against the hate crimes bill in its current form many times, but that doesn't justify his vote for the defense bill at the expense of sacrificing our First Amendment rights. I strongly doubt that our military personnel would want to take armor, knowing the truth behind the vote.

Angry doesn't even begin to describe what I am feeling. I feel betrayed! I am a Christian, and John Cornyn also claims to be one as well. My thoughts lead me to say to him the following:

Dear Senator Cornyn:

As you probably know, many people are outraged that the hate crimes bill has been signed into law by Barack Obama. But I'm equally incensed that you would vote for the defense spending bill with the hate crimes bill along with it. I thought you had common sense. I never thought you would sacrifice your Christian principles and betray the people you serve with such a vote. You not only betrayed the people you serve, but you have betrayed the military, along with the Constitution you took an oath to uphold.

I strongly doubt that our military would accept any equipment, income, or armor, knowing that our First Amendment is in jeopardy because of the hate crimes law. If I spoke with friends of mine who are in the armed forces about this, there is no doubt in my mind that they would feel the same way I do at this very moment. There is nothing more heartbreaking than to have someone betray you, especially someone holding an elected office. As far as I am concerned, Senator Cornyn, your vote was nothing short of a political game to you in the hopes that you will earn votes in the next election. You have left me with the belief that your stance on Freedom of Speech and the freedom to practice religion is not really that important to you unless it serves your purpose.

What's even more sad is that I asked for your help with an issue I had with the Social Security Administration. Although I have not heard anything from you as to their decision on my request, I'm not sure if I want your assistance. That trust has been violated by your decision to put the military above the religious beliefs and freedom of speech rights of millions of people, especially Christians! How can you guarantee that you can be trusted to follow through with my request for assistance with a question I had about Social Security Disability regulations? Either way, I feel like I'm floating on a sinking ship that is larger than the Titanic.

Do you really understand what that feels like, Senator? Please don't patronize me with your political rhetoric, saying that "you feel my pain." I don't even want your apology right now. I want you to be honest with me and the rest of your Texas constituents, including those who are members of the church you attend. Tell them what you did, how you voted for the Defense Spending Bill knowing full well that the Hate Crimes legislation was right in there with it!

Part II coming soon ...
