Letter to Congress

I am a Glenn Beck “Insider” for his radio show. I listen to it as often as I can, including the archives. Today, as I was going through my email and “throwing out” old stuff before archiving emails I want to keep, I came across the newsletter (dated June 17) I get every day that included the link to this. It’s a letter that another of his insiders sent to him in an email. The author posted the letter on the internet and ended up with more than 100,000 hits in less than a week. Glenn interviewed the author on his TV show a few days later. This is awesome reading. It speaks of everything that millions of people, including myself, have been feeling for a very long time.

Here is what she wrote:

I'm a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you're willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now. You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would horribly feel so disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut job am I? Will you please tell me?

Well, these are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation:

One: Illegal immigration: I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This isn't to be confused with legal immigration.

Two, the TARP bill: I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze it! Repeal it!

Three: Czars: I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it.

Four: Cap and Trade: The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say.

Five: Universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break! Slow down!

Six: Growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why don't you start there!?

Seven: ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck … HELLOO!! Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate!!

Eight: Redistribution of wealth. No! No! No! I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why what do you have against shareholders making a profit?

Nine: Charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.

Ten: Corporate bailouts. Knock it off! Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

Eleven: Transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try please stop manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends! It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.

Twelve: Unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now.

Take a breath. Listen to the people. Let's just slow down and get some input from some nonpoliticians on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law. I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I'm busy. I'm busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.

I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not. It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it, but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children? We did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot. There is such urgency and recklessness in all of the recent spending.

From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington. Our president often knows all the right buzzword is unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced words. Stop treating us like we're morons.

We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work , pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at you. You have awakened us, the patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office. We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us when he will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution.

Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us. Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them. Because we will get you fired and they will not save you. If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn congress if need be one by one. We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen, because we are coming! We the people are coming!

Obama Denies Flyover of 'GOD & Country Rally' Why?

Obama is showing his ties to the Muslim faith by denying a 42 yr-old traditional flyby at a military event. When the organizers of the event attempted to get an explanation from the Pentagon for the denial of the flyby by Obama, their response was "because of the Christian nature of the event."

Watch the video clip below:

I am calling for all to call the White House on Monday or as soon as you can and demand an apology to the military and all Christians for this blatant disrespect against our faith. Oh, by the way, during his vacation on Martha's Vineyard, it happened to fall during Ramadan, a Muslim holy day. He is a Muslim and now we know it; he just won't come out and directly admit it.

The "Entitlement Mentality" in Today's Society

God gave us a brain that requires a certain amount of rest for the entire body to function properly. If we don't take care of ourselves, how are we going to be able to take care of the necessities in our lives? It's important that we keep a natural pace in our lives, and that includes keeping track of time and keeping our "to-do-lists" up to date so that we don't fall behind.

All of that goes along with keeping our goals and dreams in front of us on a daily basis. I mentioned this in another blog, Goals, Dreams and Attitude. Having a picture of our dreams in front of us will keep them alive. I am not just speaking of "ideas" as a dream (although dreams can and most often develop into innovative ideas), but I am speaking of something tangible - like a new home, or a vacation on a romantic cruise with your husband or wife. If you post a photo of a cruise ship on your refrigerator at home or on the wall of your office, it creates a sense of importance. These are things that one must work toward.

For example, a little boy wants a red wagon, but wants to pay for it himself. The child puts a photo of that red wagon on the wall in his bedroom. He then goes all over the neighborhood, helping his neighbors with mowing lawns and washing cars to earn and save enough money to buy his own red wagon. And once the boy purchases his red wagon, he'll appreciate it more because he earned it himself. He didn't have to worry about someone else providing it for him.

That story is something that leads me up to the difference between the generations before us and the generation of today. I have come in contact with so many people in my lifetime, and most recently, I found people in online social networks; many of them I haven't seen in over 20 years. After a brief "conversation" with someone on YouTube, I have learned that many people of today's generation (mostly from the left) have this idea that "society owes me, so President Obama is going to get me what I am entitled to." See the video below during Obama's campaign:

This is so sad that our people have resorted to this type of attitude. There is no common sense behind it. Where is the sense of personal responsibility for this woman who claims that she won't have to worry about paying her mortgage or putting gas in her car if she helps Barack Obama? She has lost all logic and has fallen for the lies of this man who claims to be a citizen of the United States, but won't show any documentation to prove that. But that's anther story. Personally, there are times when I have to fight against the same indoctrination when life doesn't seem fair to me. I fight for what is morally correct, and yet I have to fight agaisnt being "politically correct." We've got the left-wing extremists quoting "All men are created equal," unless of course you are a Christian conservative, such as myself and millions of other Americans. I'm in favor of helping my fellow man when he or she is down and out ... but Only If I Want To, not because the White House and the community organizers require me to do so. It's called tax-deductible, private donations.

The entitlement attitudes have been shouting louder by saying things like "Do away with Capitalism," and "Capitalism destroyed our economy!" Capitalism hasn't destroyed anything! A few greedy bankers and select Washington liberals in the House and Senate did this. They decided that the poor were entitled to a new house even if they couldn't afford the mortgage. People today forget that this mess started more than ten years before former President George W. Bush took office. How quickly we forget that Senators Barney Frank (D.MA) and Chriss Dodd (Democrat from where, I don't remember) were pushing for this entitlement program under Bill Clinton. Years later, they put the blame on Bush for the whole thing. It was Bill Clinton who signed that bill into law.

So, now we've got even more people crying about how awful Capitalism is. "Joe the Plumber" asked a simple question about "sharing the wealth to then Senator Barack Obama, and he's accused of being "unamerican!" Don't people realize that the middle class includes small business owners who earn $250,000? That's not considered wealthy by today's standard what-so-ever. I know a couple who earn an annual, six-figure income combined, and they cannot consider themselves wealthy. They cannot because they don't live within their financial means because of their own bad decisions. So, the American people are required to bail them out too? At the same time, these same people are saying "Capitalism has destroyed our economy, and we deserve financial restitution from the wealthy."

Well, those of you who are crying in your beer or other drinks over how terrible capitalism is... you're going to get your financial restitution... eventually. But the question is... will you be satisfied? Will it help you accomplish goals you have set for yourselves?

We cry out for accountability from Washington and from the greedy bankers, and investors who have made bad financial decisions. I'm all for that. But we also have to be held to the same standards when it comes to our own household. I will admit that I've made some very bad financial decisions in my life, and I'm paying for them dearly. But I'm also learning a valuable lesson from it and striving not to repeat the same mistakes. It takes time, but I will get there. I refuse to participate in this fiscal "pity party" that the liberals have demanded! I refuse to be a part of the financial direction in which this country is headed.

Look who's in the White House!

Glenn Beck has the guts to speak more of the truth. All week long, I have been watching a special series called, "The New Republic: America's Future. He has discussed many aspects of what is happening in Washington, describing in detail the people who surround Barack Obama in the White House. He's not afraid to call it as he sees it - Marxist, or Communist. Watch this and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Why Do You Care so Much?

I’ve often been asked this question by many people from both sides of the political aisle. Well, to put it simply, I cannot sit idly by while our liberties that were bestowed upon us via the gallantry of men who sacrificed their lives in defense of these principals are under attack; not from an outside invader, but from the tyranny of our own government! Thousands of men have died to secure our liberties. By allowing the current consolidation of power to our federal government, and thereby permitting tyranny to sweep across our great land, assures that these men have lost the worthiness of their sacrifice and have died in vein.

Our fight against tyranny is not just for ourselves, or our future generations. It also for those that have come before us! Liberty is not a free commodity, nor will it ever be. There will always be a fight against the perils of despotism, because there will always be those seeking power at the expense of the sovereignty of the people. We, the people, have been on the defense of this battle for too long! WE HAVE NOW ESCALATED TO A POINT WHERE IT IS NO LONGER TIME TO DEFEND OUR LIBERTIES, WE HAVE COME TO THE POINT WHERE WE MUST FIGHT FOR THEM!

I am not suggesting a revolution, nor a call to arms, rather, I call for a contribution and a dedication to an involvement in our government. “The price of liberty is eternal vigilance”- (Thomas Jefferson) To sacrifice a few hours of our time, and to participate in the legislative process that dictates the very laws in which we live by, is a small price to pay. May we have God’s blessings in our just cause…

God Save America!

(From my friend, Ryan in PA)

Letter to American Liberals

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists, and Obama supporters, et al:

We have stuck together since the late 1950's, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way. Here is a model separation agreement.

Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes. We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell (You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them).

We'll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies and illegal aliens. We'll keep the Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles and give you NBC, ABC and Hollywood.

You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us. You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security.

We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N., but we will no longer be paying the bill.

We'll keep the SUVs, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find.

You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors. We'll keep The Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National Anthem. I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute Imagine, I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing, Kum Ba Ya or We Are the World.

We'll practice trickle-down economics and you can give trickle up poverty your best shot. Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag.

Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to other like minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you which one of us will need whose help in 15 years.

Sincerely,

A Concerned, conservative American

P.S. Oh, by the way, we will NEVER accept government-run health care ("Obamacare")!

The Back-Door Agenda of the FCC - If Mark Lloyd has his way

The White House is diabolically trying to destroy those of us who are speaking out against their agenda. It’s not about the Fairness Doctrine. Obama has hired Mark Lloyd to be the Chief Diversity ‘Czar’ at the FCC. This is what Lloyd had to say about free speech and public radio and what he wants to do to shut down private radio and stifle those who disagree with the agenda of the White House:

On the First Amendment:

Prologue to a Farce – Mark Lloyd – Senior Fellow at Center for American Progress

“It should be clear by now that my focus here is not freedom of speech or the press … This freedom is all too often an exaggeration … At the very least, blind references to freedom of speech or the press serve as a distraction from the critical examination of other communications policies.”

According to the diversity czar, he’s proposing that private radio companies pay 100% of their operating budget yearly. That tax will be sent to the state-run NPR. If they don’t pay it, they lose their license and it will be sold to a minority group. Basically, he’s calling for private radio stations to fund NPR (state-run).

In addition, he also states “In our report, we call for ownership of rules that we think will create greater local diversity of programming, news and commentary. And we call for more localism by putting more teeth into the licensing rules. But we do not call for a return of the fairness doctrine.”

At best (or worst), this is the back door approach to the fairness doctrine. How does this represent our First Amendment? Where is the mainstream media on this?

Check out two videos from Glenn Beck on YouTube:

"If You Like Your Coverage, You Can Keep it!" - With a few Exceptions

On page 16 of the 1,018-page bill under the Orwellian header of "Protecting The Choice to Keep Current Coverage," the "Limitation on New Enrollment" section of the bill clearly states:

"Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day" of the year the legislation becomes law."

So we can all keep our coverage, just as promised - with just a couple of exceptions: those who currently have private coverage won't be able to change it. Nor will those who leave a company to work for themselves be free to buy individual plans from private carriers.

What part of this do people on the left have trouble understanding? We the people have already read either parts of this bill, or the entire thing from start to finish. It stinks! This is why the town hall meetings are so fired up and why the liberal representatives won't listen to the people during these town hall meetings. Wake up liberals!! We the people don't want this!!

Letter to America

Dear America,

It's your old friend, the Free Citizen. I am the descendant of Selflessness and Sacrifice. Time has passed quickly since we last talked. I have written to you, but you have yet to respond. When I call, you never answer. I hope everything is alright.

I thought I was still in my youth, but it appears as though I have grown older. My hearing is worn out, as I can no longer hear the Liberty Bell toll and echo its sweet Freedom through city streets and off mountain tops; my eyes have grown tired, as the Stars and Stripes once flew so boldly, yet now, She appears tattered and faded, no longer flying proudly.

We haven't stayed close since your divorce from the Constitution. Some call your new spouse, "Socialism," "Fascism" or "Progressivism." I've heard that you were lovers a hundred years ago, though I am not sure what is true anymore.

I fear your children have not lived up to your name. They know and play more political games than I know card games. With the death of Common Sense, your children will now have to learn of it from books rather than from themselves. You have let your children run rampant without discipline, and I am paying for it!

As we grow apart, I am afraid that negative emotions will replace the fondness of years gone by. Many of my siblings have become angry, and it scares me more than your silence. I have to wonder, is war in our future? I pray not, for I am a peaceful person; I do not want to hear the bugle call early in the sunrise of our beautiful existence once more.

We have reached difficult times, and you call on us to sacrifice. I know plenty of sacrifice, for I am born of it. Yet if we sacrifice Liberty, I will be Free Citizen no longer. Shall you willlingly imprison me with your shackles of fear and tyranny, or allow your children to hold me hostage? What of my ancestors, those who sacrificed health, life and lovers so I may not feel that cold steel chain around my wrist? What of your Fathers, those who wrote about the common rights of men and created the greatest Republic to stand? Surely, they must be ashamed of their children.

You can muzzle me, chain me, and beat me. But I will never sacrifice Liberty. I will stand tall beside you, America, for you are my home and my greatest friend; you are the haven of the oppressed and sanctuary of justice. Yet I will not let your children - tyranny and hypocrites - destroy you.

Sincerely, your old friend,

The Free Citizen
